ZENGLEN MUST PAY FOR ITS INSOLENCE

It is now no secret that Dabenz got voted out unanimously by his bandmates. At unanimity he got voted out, meaning not one member of the band wants him in. A decision like that would make you automatically think that he must have done something really stupid and out of line that could jeopardize the interests of the band, right? No, such is not the case. According to Kompamazine.com reporting the reason for his firing, “They estimate that DABENZ was bringing more negativity to the band ‘ANBA ANBA’ and they claim that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!” http://kompamagazine.com/kmboard/viewtopic.php?t=32610

Let’s take a moment to analyze the Kompamagazine report. This is a decision taken on the career of an artist on the basis of a baseless claim –Dabenz was bringing more negativity to the band clandestinely. The word clandestinely is exactly what sells them out. Clandestinely or “anba anba” means that they do not have proof that the wrongdoings he has been accused of hold any truth. Where are the facts to corroborate such allegation? How come none of these negativities has ever been known to the press? These guys basically rely on baseless claims circulating through the grapevine to mess with someone’s career.

According to Basekompa.com, all this nonsense about Dabenz bringing more negativity to the band clandestinely is not the true reason behind the firing. The website reported, which the artist later confirmed, that while Dabenz was on stage performing in Haiti at Miche’s Garden with the band, he got embarrassed and humiliated by Brutus. The later, in many instances, ordered the sound engineer to turn Dabenz’s microphone down low so that they do not hear him out in the speakers; he wanted only Kenny’s voice to come out, a way to boycott Dabenz. http://basekompatv.com/forum.html But what could be the reason for the boycott, though?

They wanted to boycott Dabenz because apparently there has been some sort of a power strife going on inside the band. The public is more in tune with him than Kenny, and Brutus was not feeling too keen about that. He wanted to promote Kenny, yet the public has chosen Dabenz. It is like fighting against the will of nature. The public wants something, yet he wants to resist it. Why punishing Dabenz because Kenny is not commercial and hype?

Now, let me talk to these guys for a minute. You guys are the reason why Zenglen, a band that is playing extremely well, is going down. The public does not have faith in you anymore. They realize now that you guys don’t know what you want and have no sense of direction. You throw Dabenz away to sell Kenny to a public that does not even want him. You cannot shove him down the public’s throat. Go look around and find someone else. Kenny cannot do it; he does not have what it takes to be what you guys want him to be for the band –a frontline superstar. Trust me on that.

Dabenz’s home of record is New Jersey. The people here love and see him as their own. They take to heart the way you guys treated him. I think you are going to have to do a lot of PR work to appease the rage of the community here. The word in the streets of New Jersey now is to proceed with operation boycott against Zenglen in the state. I am urging you guys to not come to New Jersey any moment soon, not until the people’s fury is rescinded, for you may be chased out. Don’t say you did not get the message. You are not going to treat the man so unfairly like that to think that everything is cool. M swete nou jwenn nouvel la.

  1. Ahh Emann…sounds a bit one sided. Perhaps you should get Zenglen’s side of the story. Now sounds like you are approaching this with “emotions” cause Dabenz from New Jersey. Personally, he is the better than Kenny; however, if he does not work into the vision of the band- Why should they let him stay. The audience will also notice the friction (and that will keep they fans away aswell).

    • Zaffa: Zenglen’s side of the story has been reported already. Kompamazine.com wrote that Brutus told them that “They estimate that DABENZ was bringing more negativity to the band ‘ANBA ANBA’ and they claim that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!” If they are not doing a good at informing the public, if their PR sucks, it is not me; I have nothing to do with that. I am a blogger; therefore, I rely on press reports to formulate my own analysis and opinion of the facts.

  2. Zenglen has been doing this 4 a while now. Richie is the one doing stuff anba, anba. That’s the reason y they change members time to time. Now that u mention it emann, why did nickenson prudhomme left n also reginal cange. Eversince those two left zenglen has been the wackest in doing shows, music n etc. Emann can I say something to Zenglen, here it is “give up n stop lying all the time MR. RICHIE.

    • Bertha, it seems as though it is a pattern. In an interview Richie gave to Basekompa.com, the way he talked, Dabenz is at fault. He framed the artist as a jealous, a hater, a dangerous guy to have around, which cannot be true.

  3. It takes 2 to tango! Darbenz is not a saint.. but to be voted out UNAMOUSLY.. that says a lot! Kom mwen out of the loop the last few weeks, mwen pa ka elabore twop sou suje sa.

    • Mica, you are right; he is not a saint. However, to tell me he is voted out by all his bandmates is suspicious. Not one person voted against the idea of letting him go? Come on!!! Unless these guys are a bunch of airheads, there is no way for such idea to receive a vote at unanimity.

  4. I agree with Zaffa and Mika. We do not know what happened in its entirety so it’s not fair to automatically place all the blame on Zenglen and make them out to be villains. If it was a unanimous vote then Dabenz must’ve had some kind of responsibility in the matter.
Emann, I also disagree with you about Kenny cause Zenglen’s 1st cd with Kenny was the first one I enjoyed from track 1 to the last since Gary DJ Perez left. It’s not just to diminish his contribution to the group.

    • “We do not know what happened in its entirety so it’s not fair to automatically place all the blame on Zenglen and make them out to be villains.”

Well, whose fault is it for me not knowing the full story? It is their job to inform the public, isn’t it? If they did a lousy PR job at informing the public, that’s their fault.

After the aforementioned websites broke the news, their job should have been to immediately issue a press release to inform the public as to what went down. In fact, the websites should have not know about the story from any third party; they should have known about it from the band’s PR person.

I don’t blame them. Since information was given out in droplets, so I only processed what was reported on the websites to put things in perspective and get them to make sense to me.

    • “If it was a unanimous vote then Dabenz must’ve had some kind of responsibility in the matter.”

You are absolutely right, dear. I said the same thing too. What could he have possibly done for his teammates to vote him out at unanimity? They still would not come out to tell the public what went down. Don’t they think the fans deserve to know?

    • “I also disagree with you about Kenny cause Zenglen’s 1st cd with Kenny was the first one I enjoyed from track 1 to the last since Gary DJ Perez left.”

And I do respect your right to disagree with me. No doubt that Kenny is one of the best vocalists we have in the business right now. However, did Zenglen score with that CD you are alluding to? To my knowledge, the answer is no.

See, there is a big difference between being a great vocalist and being a sellable one. Can Kenny be sold easily to the fans? Is Kenny marketable like that? The answer is a bold NO. That’s one of the reasons as to why Zenglen -a band that is playing EXTREMELY well, better than all of these bands out there -is losing ground.

I am not saying he should not be in the band. I just think that he must not be the face of the band, the one they should be selling. Something is missing in him. That’s my opinion of him.
